Love The Skin You’re In

At Parasol Dermatology, our comprehensive dermatological services span lifetimes—from children to seniors. Dr. Bolante takes the time to communicate with each patient about personal concerns before determining the best, most comprehensive approach. With patient education at the forefront, each visit is another opportunity to work together toward healthier, more beautiful skin.

Vision and Philosophy

Parasol Dermatology was founded on the principles of healthy skin—our body’s miraculous covering that comes into contact with the rest of the world.

As the largest organ of the body, the skin covers a total area of about 20 square feet. No other organ demands so much attention and concern in both states of disease and health. There are more than 3,000 possible skin disorders, and Parasol Dermatology will use the latest advances in technology to help identify and treat them all.

As a full-service, state-of-the-art dermatology practice, we also offer the latest advances in anti-aging and skin rejuvenation procedures, injections and other cosmetic treatments.

Because skin is an evolving organ, changing so much over time, Parasol Dermatology seeks to be there for patients across their lifetimes.

From Latin, the word “parasol” (“para” for “shield” and “sol” for “sun”) tells part of our story. However, a parasol also is a canopy, and patients will discover that we are a comprehensive practice—offering everything under one umbrella.

From kids with warts or acne, adults with eczema or skin cancers, and grandparents with thinning skin and wounds to those who seek cosmetic improvements, Parasol Dermatology is here to help everyone love the skin they’re in.

Dr. Christina Bolante

It may seem odd for a board-certified dermatologist to hail from Forks, Washington, the rainiest (and therefore, cloudiest) town in the contiguous United States. But even as a child, Christina Bolante knew the dangers of sun damage on skin—including on windy, cloudy and cool days.

So when it came time to name her first private practice in dermatology, Dr. Bolante landed on the word “parasol” (in Latin, “para” for “shield” and “sol” for “sun”). The skin, she knew, could always repel water, but the damage caused by ultraviolet radiation wreaks havoc on the human body’s largest organ.

Christina formed the foundation for Parasol Dermatology early in childhood. When she was 5 years old, her family moved to the small farming community of Lynden, Washington, known for its “dairies and berries,” and high school sports. Her parents, both teachers, stressed the value of education and hard work to all four of their children. In high school, Christina spent her summers with red-stained hands and dirt under her nails, picking strawberries at a local farm.
